EURO SUMMER BAND TOUR ON NOW - SOME DATES ADDED

Carus, Mathieu & Christophe have been loving the Euro Summer Tour so far.  They look forward to the rest of their shows in France (Bordeux on Wed 30th June) before they then head to outdoor appearances in Germany & Austria.

There are shows added in Holland (Amsterdam on Monday 26th July) as well as two new UK shows - The Wateringhole in Perranporth on 6th Aug and Ronnies Bar in Macclesfield, not far from Manchester on 8th Aug.

Carus joins forces with fellow Australian singer-songwriter Derrin Nauendorf for a September UK tour. Derrin has been living in the UK for eights years and built up a solid and loyal following after countless tours and some amazing critical reviews and performances for the likes of Bob Harris & Paul Jones.

Hi to everyone out there! Carus here, thought I'd write a bit of a combined hello/thankyou to everyone for their support with the release of CREATURE OF HABIT and tell you a bit about where I'm going from here.

First up, I've got some shows to announce. At the risk of sounding like John Farnham I'm doing three Oz shows before I head back to Europe. I'll in Sydney: 21/05 at THE COOGEE DIGGERS & 22/05 at THE BRASS MONKEY and I'll also play a little live music restaurant THE HARVESTER MOON down in Bellarine, VIC. These shows landed in my lap through my new Australian agent PREMIER ARTISTS, who I think are going to really help me out a lot when it comes time to launch a new album in 2011.

Also just announced are my EUROPEAN SUMMER SHOWS. I'll be hooking back up with my French rhythm section of Mathieu & Christophe and we'll play shows through England, Germany, France & Switzerland through June, July & August. We'll finish the tour with a 7 night stint at The Jazz Bar in Edinburgh for The Fringe Festival - the biggest Fringe Festival in the world.

For Londoners I'm playing Wednesday 2nd June at The Garage too!

Now to what I've been up to since my Southern German tour in March. I've been back in Australia for the past month (in between drinks so to speak) holed up writing songs - and I'm really pleased to say they are coming along nicely. Every time I sit down to try and write I always have a moment of panic where I wonder if the skill's just vanished, or that I won't be able to top the last songs I wrote and its time to just quit. Well I've managed to keep the writers block devil at bay once again. Got about seven songs written now and I'm really happy with them. In terms of themes - these seem to be heading even more into character driven songs, however I've also written one of my most favourite love songs to date, as well as a song which sums up all I've wanted to say for a long time about the fragility of life and the loss of it.

This is the first time I've written an album from scratch, as in not had any songs already floating around and whilst its more of a challenge I really like it. A fresh canvas so to speak. The new album, whatever it will be is due for release in 2011 and as the songs start to stack up I'm getting excited about it. I'll be playing a few on these upcoming shows so if you make it down I hope you like them.

Once again thanks so much to everyone in Europe & Australia (and anywhere else) for all your support in 2009 with the release of CREATURE OF HABIT. I hope I can bring another good album to you in 2011. I can't express how much I appreciate your support.

FAREWELL TO OZ TOUR ANNOUNCED

Happy New Year from carus.com.au!!!

2010 will see Carus based between France, Germany & Spain  but before he heads off he's put together his FAREWELL TO OZ TOUR that'll see him touring Australia in acoustic mode, visiting most capitals and some select regionals.

The tour kicks off in Fremantle with two shows at The Norfolk on 16th & 17th Jan, before two special double bill shows with Nathan Gaunt in Bunbury & Geraldton. 

Carus then hits SA, NSW, QLD & VIC where he'll be accompanied by old touring accomplice Bedge on mandolin, violin and piano.

This will be Carus' only headline Australian tour for 2010 so don't miss out. Tickets are on sale now, check tour dates for show & ticket info.

SOUTH OF IKENBURG TOUR ANNOUNCED FOR GERMANY

Carus has spent a lot of time in Germany, specifically in the North, so Ikenburg Music has put together a tour this March just for the South of Germany. Check tour dates for details

EUROPE - BAND TOUR UK, FRANCE & GERMANY

This November re-unites his "French Connection" rhythm section plus new Euro-band member Jessie Beaton (guitars/mandolin) for a BAND tour of the UK, France and Germany. In the UK he'll return to Edinburgh as well as London's The 12 Bar , whilst in Paris it'll be a big show at The O.P.A plus some regional venues.

The German dates are presented by MUSICHEADQUARTER Magazine and tickets been on sale since July and selling strong - requiring the Munich show to be moved to a bigger venue! Please note there are only five German dates: Berlin, Hamburg, Hameln, Wuppertal & Munich and there will not be any more added so grab your ticket now.

AUSTRALIA - Perth, Sydney, Adelaide & VIC BAND SHOWS

Its been a great year for Carus in OZ so we couldn't finish 2009 without one more round of shows to celebrate. In November he'll play some acoustic dates in Perth and Sydney, before Decemeber sees him in VIC, Adelaide & Tassie.

In Perth he's been invited to perform at The Northbridge Festival on Sunday 1st November and there's also an "un-advertised" show at Clancys in Freo for Thursday 5th. For Sydney-siders there's the Brass Monkey in Cronulla on Friday 6th.

For Victorians we're very pleased to announce the first band shows that Carus has played in over a year! In December Carus will team up True Believers Jason Mcgann  &  Andrew Fry with new musical accomplices Greg Arnold & Andrew Darling for some folk-rocking band action in Drysdale, Melbourne, Torquay and Warrnambool.

The Melbourne show will be a Huge "End of Year Party" gig at The Corner Hotel on Wednesday 9th December  also featuring ROB SAWYER, LOREN & NATHAN GAUNT. Carus, Rob & Loren havn't gigged together since 2007's Roots Roadshow tour so this should be a huge night!
